Discover the fascinating world of fungi and its many age-defying, detoxifying benefits with the founder of Four Sigmatic.

The world of fungi features mind-boggling diversity. There are more than 1.5 million different types of fungi, and an estimated 2,000 of these are thought to be edible and/or medicinal. People have utilized mushrooms for these purposes for thousands of years, and there are now tens of thousands of studies backing up what ancient cultures long believed: Functional mushrooms offer many acute health benefits.

Among them, mushrooms are shown to:

  • Reduce stress

  • Support immune functions

  • Support cognitive and physical performance

  • Maintain gut health

  • Add years to your life

Because mushrooms have been shown to be beneficial to the human body in so many ways, this course was created to share this deep knowledge with the layperson, the fungi follower and the mushroom lover.

Tero Isokauppila is a world-class mushroom expert, a Finnish nomad, and an ultra-successful fungi-based foodpreneur. it is his personal and professional mission to re-introduce ancient mushroom wisdom to modern lifestyle. Mushrooms have been a part of Tero’s life since he was a kid growing up in Finland on his family’s 13th-generation farm (since the 1600s) where his mother taught him to forage when he was young.

It wasn’t until Tero became a semi-competitive runner in his twenties that he started to explore the health benefits of various mushrooms. He was introduced to a mushroom variety called cordyceps, and fell down a rabbit hole of research about the mushroom’s ability to increase energy and reduce fatigue. His own experiences with cordyceps bore out this research: he was stunned to discover that it really did give him more energy for his runs.

Tero started to consume a variety of functional mushrooms, and the results have been remarkable. Even now that he travels more than 40 times per year for business and is constantly exposed to germs in airplanes, hotels, and other unfamiliar environments, he hasn’t been sick for a single day in almost a decade.

It is Tero’s belief that everyone should have the opportunity to reap the incredible benefits that result from incorporating mushrooms into a daily wellness regimen.

In this live, interactive video course, you will become a mushroom expert in four sessions, understanding their rich variety and applications, as well as seeing into the future what humanity might do to change our world through mushrooms.

You will be part of the discussion, able to ask your questions on camera, just like a Skype call. If you happen to miss a live session, you can view a video recording at any time. These sessions will be filled with crucial information and practical advice that you can use immediately in your daily life.

In this class, we will take a deep dive into Functional mushrooms -- fully exploring the 10 top mushrooms for human health, and how to use these mushrooms to alter the course of your health, and ultimately your life. We will discover together the real magic of functional mushrooms like Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, and Lion's Mane, as well as other superfoods and adaptogens like rhodiola, eleuthero, and schisandra to help us live healthier, more enhanced lives.

Essentially, adaptogens are just as they sound: They help the body adapt to the stressful world around it. Everyday, we’re exposed to a variety of stressors – sometimes it’s the kind of stress we’re used to, like that big deadline coming up on your calendar, but sometimes the stress we’re exposed to is a little more sneaky. Think, the invisible pollution you’re exposed to on your morning commute or the sugary piece of birthday cake you indulged in over the weekend. Adaptogens can help our bodies deal with the onslaught that life throws our way on a daily basis, working with the system to protect the body from stress by regulating the release of the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline.

Cultures from the forests of Finland to the rural countryside of China have incorporated mushrooms into their diets in both solid and liquid form for thousands of years. Thousands of studies have been conducted and papers written on mushrooms testifying their incredible properties. They are an integral part of ancient health wisdom in cultures across the world.
