An Evolver Talk

Discover why medicine is common, abundant and found everywhere — from spice rack to pantry, from onion poultices to basil tea to infused honeys and vinegars.

Our kitchens (including our cupboards, spice racks, and refrigerators) can be abundant sources of effective medicine for many ailments, and a lot safer than those in the pharmacy! Robin will draw from her new book, The Gift of Healing Herbs, to explore the healing gifts of many items that most of us likely already have in our homes, from onions and garlic to thyme and cinnamon, potatoes and vinegar to salt, pepper, honey, apples, chocolate, and more.

We’ll discover a variety of ways to use these common foods and herbs, including in wound powders, honeys, infused vinegars, herbal syrups, steams and baths, herbal washes, spice pastes, and healing meals. We’ll address such first aid challenges as minor bleeding, belly aches, food poisoning, cuts, headaches, infections, inflammation, sinus troubles, and burns.

You will learn:
  • How whole, healthy fats benefit your physical health, your brain function and mental and emotional health
  • Why you will derive more health benefits from cooking your leafy green vegetables than from lightly steaming them
  • How including wild greens and flowers such as dandelions, garlic mustard, lamb’s quarters, amaranth and more can help your immune system, digestion, heal allergies and even set your mind free
  • How to prepare common culinary herbs for maximum medicinal benefits both internally and externally
  • The surprising number of benefits associated with regular use of apple cider vinegar, and how to enhance those benefits by infusing herbs in either home-made or store bought apple cider vinegar
Join us for a lively, informative discussion about how to use the natural pharmacy you already have at your fingertips to keep you and your family healthy. You will be part of the discussion, able to ask your questions on camera, just like a Skype call. If you happen to miss it live, you can view a video recording at any time.
